I learned to ski as an adult after years of begging by my wife (who is an expert skier). She was right to do it. The winter is a lot less dark when you have something to look forward to, and though it's not the cheapest sport there are ways to bring the cost down! Cost was a major hurdle for me to get started: gear, lessons, and lift tickets oh my. It felt like a world that I was not meant to be a part of. Honestly Lake Louise's Learn to Turn program was what actually convinced me to give it another try. It was such a small investment compared to most of the learner packages, and I felt like it really set me up for progression. Truly excellent spend of their marketing budget honestly. I'm certain they've already made their money back and more on me.
I started making this website because I initially was comparing lift ticket prices, supercards, etc in a spreadsheet, then the spreadsheet became too complicated with all the different supercard rules, so I started running it in python, then my friends wanted me to share the calculator I made with them so I though I'd get a cheap domain and throw it up here.
Since setting up the site though, I've really rediscovered my passion for writing. It's such a joy to be able to write about and share something I'm passionate about for no other reason but that I want to. So I've slowly expanded the site to include more that I want to write about. It's also a fun little way to keep some of my coding skills current, but really it's more of a creative writing outlet.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the site and my ramblings. I hope you find value in the guides I've written, and that the tools I've made save you some money.
Ski cheap my friends!
